A unique opportunity

Mark Tomlinson is the founder of MJT Landscapes Limited.

MJT Landscapes Ltd began trading in Reading, Berkshire in 2004 and partnered with Daniel Moquet in May 2022 to become the first pilot unit in the UK Franchise.

Mark’s journey began at the age of 14 when he started working weekends at a local garden centre. At the age of 16 his passion for working outdoors had grown and he was offered an apprenticeship at the garden centre where he started to develop his horticultural knowledge. During the 2 years of his apprenticeship, he was promoted to a department manager and at age 18 he came away from the horticultural department and was introduced to Landscaping. Intrigued by the construction methods of Landscaping and keen to learn about new products, along with installation techniques, Mark soon realised there was a huge demand for the installation services of the materials he was selling. He started small - with just a few fence panels on his day off and weekend projects, until one day, he made the decision to pursue his passion as a freelance landscaper.

He started building small gardens for local domestic customers, and over the years, his reputation grew, the company now consists of 5 teams with the ability to deliver domestic projects up to the value of £150,000.  MJT Landscapes’ turnover is now in excess of £1million and Mark has a wealth of knowledge and experience that is responsible for the successful delivery of 4 RHS Chelsea Gold Medal awarded gardens.

Mark will continue as Managing Director of MJT and assume the role of UK Franchise Director, where he will train new franchisees, in a streamlined route to owning a successful hard landscaping business.
